Construction has officially commenced on the Yanuna luxury tourism project in Punta Macao, located in the La Altagracia province of the Dominican Republic. The development represents a total planned investment of approximately US$1 billion across multiple stages.

The first phase of the project includes the construction of two Marriott International hotels: The Ritz-Carlton Yanuna and Casa Mirayá, a Luxury Collection Hotel. This initial stage will provide 548 rooms and 25 luxury residences. 

Project leaders expect operations to begin in 2029. The development is estimated to generate roughly 1,500 direct jobs during construction and over 1,600 permanent positions once operational. To mitigate environmental impact, developers have committed to protocols to protect local natural features, such as mangroves, dunes, and sea turtle nesting sites.
