Initially, Minister of Transport Mohsen Haidara al-Omari issued four administrative appointments, including advisors for aviation safety and assistant undersecretaries, to “strengthen the institutional framework” and improve operational efficiency. Following these appointments, the Ministry has moved forward with major infrastructure projects at Aden International Airport. The foundation stones have been laid for a new headquarters for the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology (GACA) and a specialized civil aviation institute. These projects are being self-funded by GACA. The GACA headquarters will cover approximately 20,636 square meters, including a main building and facilities for parking and support.
