In late July, Shabwa province police chief Fouad Mohamed Nissi convened an expanded security meeting, ordering heightened combat and operational readiness and intensified patrols across major towns to counter any Houthi‑linked threats. The meeting also addressed improvements to civil‑status services and noted support from the Saudi‑led Arab coalition.

A week later, Lieutenant General Dr. Abdulsalam Al‑Jamali, commander of Yemen’s National Security Forces, inspected the National Security Reserve Forces in Aden. He praised their discipline and readiness, announced a comprehensive training programme for personal protection, rapid response and tactical operations, and urged unity among personnel to safeguard southern Yemen, senior officials, diplomatic delegations and critical infrastructure.
