Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted several official activities in Varanasi, including visiting the Baba Kaal Bhairav and Shri Kashi Vishwanath temples and inspecting preparations for a new ₹100 crore Arvind Mills unit. He also held a ceremony to honor sanitation workers, known as ‘Swachhata Mitras’, for their contributions to the ‘Swachh Kashi’ mission.

During a two-day visit starting Saturday, October 24, the Chief Minister reviewed preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit and an upcoming air show. Meeting with officials at the Circuit House, Adityanath emphasized the need to balance security with public convenience, specifically instructing officials to avoid unnecessary barricading to ensure easy access to the Ganga ghats.

To manage expected crowds, the administration has planned traffic diversions, parking arrangements, and robust security. Sanitation and utility preparations include the deployment of 200 cleaning volunteers, 2,000 dustbins, 200 mobile toilets, and 280 water tankers. Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Nagpal reported that silt cleaning at the ghats has been completed to improve access and cleanliness for spectators.
