Municipalities along the North Coast of São Paulo, specifically Ubatuba and Caraguatatuba, are implementing various initiatives focused on children and youth development. In late September and early October, local governments organized conferences to strengthen public policies and protection networks for children and adolescents. In Ubatuba, the 13th Conference of the Rights of Children and Adolescents emphasized that protecting youth is a “shared responsibility” across health, education, and social assistance sectors. Caraguatatuba initiated preparatory meetings to foster social participation and identify community demands ahead of its 8th Municipal Conference. Parallel to these policy discussions, the region has launched cultural and educational programs. Caraguatatuba has provided audiovisual training in screenwriting and cinematography for local students. In Ubatuba, the Teatro Municipal Pedro Paulo Teixeira Pinto has expanded its Children’s Month lineup to include Michael Jackson tributes, rock concerts, and circus shows. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-02: Brazil municipalities host diverse cultural and community events Municipalities across Brazil are hosting diverse cultural events in October, including children's month festivities, theatrical workshops, and expanded local producer fairs. 17 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/cultural-and-educational-programs-announced-in-caraguatatuba-and-ubatuba ### 2026-09-30: Municipalities in São Paulo hold conferences on children's rights Municipalities in São Paulo, including Ubatuba and Caraguatatuba, are holding conferences to develop and strengthen public policies regarding the rights and protection of children and adolescents. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/municipalities-in-so-paulo-hold-conferences-on-childrens-rights --- Cite as: Youth and child welfare initiatives in São Paulo.
