Six-year-old Xuanyi Geng established a new world record for the fastest 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube solve at the Guangzhou Grand Open 2026 in China. Geng completed the puzzle in 2.51 seconds, breaking the previous record of 2.76 seconds held by Teodor Zajder.

While Geng secured the individual single solve record, recognized by Guinness World Records and the World Cube Association, his average time across five rounds was 3.87 seconds, placing him sixth in the final. The tournament was won by Yiheng Wang, who achieved an average time of 4.20 seconds.
