The Municipal School Olympics in João Pessoa, organized by the Secretariat of Education and Culture (Sedec-JP), progressed through various sporting modalities in late August. Early stages of the event included judo competitions where participants secured victories via ‘umiippon’. 

The event concluded with record participation, involving over 3,700 students from 84 schools across 12 modalities, such as futsal, volleyball, handball, basketball, and swimming. The finals were held at the Arthur Costa Freire Municipal Center for Integrative Activities (Cemapi) in Mangabeira. 

In a separate regional development, youth athletes from João Pessoa also saw success at the Copa Brasil de Águas Abertas in Pernambuco, where the Fundação Campeões do Amanhã (FCA) team earned 13 medals.
