Various initiatives are emerging in Indonesia to establish structured development pathways for young athletes in different sporting disciplines.

In basketball, the Nextgen Student League (NSL) is expanding its program for the 2026-2027 season. The league aims to provide a progression from school-level competition to the NSL All Star program, which includes international training opportunities. The upcoming season is expected to involve over 8,000 participants across five major cities, including Jakarta and Surabaya, with a focus on character building and leadership.

In football, the Neo Gen Football Academy has opened in Bandung. Founded to prepare young players for professional careers through technical training, the academy is facilitating international exposure by scheduling participation in tournaments such as the SingaCup in Singapore and the ASEAN Youth Cup, alongside planned matches against teams from Australia and Thailand.
