Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena has launched the second edition of the ‘Dale color a tu vida, dale color a tu mente’ initiative in Yucatán. The program focuses on strengthening mental health and suicide prevention for more than 27,000 students across 40 campuses.

As part of the ‘Aliados por la Vida’ strategy, the initiative utilizes artistic activities, such as creating murals, to promote self-care and provide a medium for expression. The program also promotes the ‘Línea Amiga’ (800 108 8000), a free, 24/7 support service. According to the Governor, the state has observed a one-fourth reduction in suicide rates, suggesting progress in these prevention efforts. The initiative is a collaborative effort involving Yucatán Health Services, the Secretariat of Education, and various mental health units.
