Director Zack Snyder has provided updates on several film projects. He confirmed a director’s cut of ‘Sucker Punch’ is planned, though it faces delays due to expiring licensing agreements with Warner Bros. Other discussed projects include a remake of ‘Escape from New York’, a UFC-related film titled ‘Brawlers’, and a limited series adaptation of ‘The Fountainhead’.

Regarding his ‘Rebel Moon’ franchise, Snyder expressed uncertainty about a third installment following mixed critical reception and declining viewership data. Speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival, Snyder suggested that the popularity of the extended R-rated director’s cuts might create a “groundswell” of interest necessary to justify a sequel.

While co-writer Kurt Johnstad previously indicated that outlines for sequels three through six had been developed, Netflix has neither officially canceled the franchise nor approved a third film. Recent viewership data highlights a significant gap between original releases and director’s cuts. For example, ‘Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire’ garnered 135.6 million views, while its director’s cut reached approximately 13.6 million. Similarly, ‘Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver’ saw 76 million views for the original compared to 14.2 million for its director’s cut.
