Zamalek SC recently participated in a friendly match at the Cairo International Stadium, defeating Modern Sport 4-3. The match served as preparation for the club’s upcoming competition in the Egypt Capital Cup.

In their Capital Cup opener on October 7, 2026, Zamalek SC suffered a 3-0 defeat against ZED FC at Al Mokawloon Al Arab Stadium. Marwan Hegazy opened the scoring in the 40th minute, and Ahmed Atef added two goals in the 54th and 56th minutes.

Following the previous tactical plan by manager Moataz Gamal, the squad heavily featured youth and academy players to preserve the fitness of first-team regulars ahead of a league match against Al Ahly. Despite efforts to reduce the deficit, Zamalek failed to score, leaving them at the bottom of Group A while ZED FC secured three points.
