Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University (ZBEÜ) Hospital has received European accreditation for its Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Unit from the European Board of Nuclear Medicine (EBNM) for the 2026-2030 period. This accreditation, which covers clinical applications, quality management, and radiation safety, makes the facility the only one in Turkey to appear on the EBNM’s “Accredited Departments” list.

Following this recognition, it was noted that the hospital is the first public hospital in Turkey to achieve this status and has recently acquired a digital PET/CT imaging device. While the hospital serves as a critical hub for cancer diagnosis in the Western Black Sea region, efforts to expand similar diagnostic capabilities are also being implemented in Düzce through the installation of a new PET-CT device.
