During the first half of 2026, the Zarząd Transportu Metropolitalnego (ZTM) observed a shift in passenger purchasing habits, characterized by a move toward long-term and electronic transit tickets. Total ticket sales value rose to approximately 149 million PLN, compared to 145 million PLN during the same period the previous year.

Sales of paper single-use tickets fell by approximately 20%, and electronic 90-day tickets decreased by about 7%. In contrast, sales of 24-hour and 7-day tickets grew by roughly 12%, while Package and 180-day tickets increased by about 20%. The 30-day ticket remains the most popular long-term option, with over 316,000 purchases, marking a 9% increase.

ZTM Director Michał Wadowski noted that passengers are increasingly opting for longer-duration tickets rather than multiple single-use ones, which he views as a sign of passenger loyalty and trust. He also attributed the growing interest in public transport to improvements in service quality, such as newer and better-equipped buses.
