0048 Association highlights women's cancer support in Varese

Silvana and Paoletta, lifelong friends and former colleagues from a grocery store in Saltrio, are sharing their experiences of battling cancer through the 0048 Association. The association was established in 2024 within the oncology departments of Varese to support women facing similar challenges.

Their stories are featured in a new episode of the Radio Materia podcast, ‘0048 Mission is possible’. Silvana’s journey included caring for her husband during his battle with pancreatic cancer until his death in 2022, before she was diagnosed with carcinoma in situ in both breasts. The two women highlight the importance of family networks and community support in finding strength during medical treatment.
