007 First Light receives path tracing update with high hardware requirements

IO Interactive has released a major visual update for 007 First Light, introducing advanced path tracing technology and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction. This update aims to significantly enhance lighting, shadows, and color realism by providing a complete simulation of environmental lighting.

The update comes after initial delays caused by optimization challenges. Due to the intense computational demands of path tracing, the game now requires high-end hardware to maintain playable performance. To achieve medium settings at 1080p and 60 FPS, a GeForce RTX 5070 is required. For ultra-level settings targeting 4K resolution and over 200 FPS with DLSS, players will need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090.

007 First Light, which follows the early career of James Bond, has been a commercial and critical success, surpassing 4 million copies sold.
