080 Barcelona Fashion opens 38th edition in Port Vell
The 38th edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion has commenced at the Marina Seca in Port Vell, Barcelona. Due to autumn weather instability, the event moved its runway from the Rambla del Rompeolas to the indoor facilities of the Marina Seca building located beneath the Hotel W.
The event features 26 fashion shows running through Friday, including 12 from Catalan brands and various international designers, such as Paris-based Louis Gabriel Nouchi. A central theme of this edition is sustainability and circular fashion, highlighted by the opening of the 080 Reborn show. This initiative, led by stylists Fermín Serret and Gilles Martin in collaboration with Girbau Lab and the Waste Agency of Catalonia, focuses on upcycling and second-hand clothing to promote hybrid consumption.
Additionally, the event introduces the Plec festival, a new initiative designed to foster fashion culture among a broader audience. While the main runway is sheltered, parallel outdoor activities are scheduled to take place at the Tinglados buildings.
