1. FC Köln to Celebrate Season Opener with 3,330 L of Gaffel Kölsch for Fans

The 1. FC Köln will play a pre‑season test match against Spanish cup winners Real Sociedad on Saturday, 8 August 2026 at the RheinEnergieSTADION, kick‑off at 15:30. Following the match, the club will activate its annual "Torkonto" promotion, distributing 3,330 liters of Gaffel Kölsch to supporters on the stadium grounds and nearby areas. The amount is calculated at 111 liters for each home goal scored in the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, with the team having netted 30 home goals.

Sebastian Lenninghausen, head of product‑management marketing at Gaffel, said the tradition has become a beloved part of the club’s season‑start celebrations. Organisers also asked fans to help with waste reduction and proper disposal to keep the event pleasant for everyone.
