German second‑division side 1. FC Nürnberg secured a 3‑2 victory over Waldhof Mannheim in a 120‑minute pre‑season test match in Roth. Piet Scobel scored both goals for Nürnberg, striking in the 66th and 93rd minutes, while Julian Ulbricht (44') and Terrence Boyd (64') had put Mannheim ahead earlier, and Javier Fernández equalised for Nürnberg in the 55th minute.

Trainer Miroslav Klose expressed mixed feelings, noting that the team's play improved after the 60th minute but that the first half fell short of his expectations. He said the squad would work on consistency during their upcoming training camp in Gais, South Tyrol, and highlighted an upcoming test against Italian Serie C side Palermo.
