1. FC Nürnberg tackles stadium relocation options amid fan assault probe

The 1. FC Nürnberg is evaluating possible venues to host home matches while the Max‑Morlock‑Stadion undergoes reconstruction. Fan suggestions on social media include regional stadiums such as those of FC Ingolstadt, SSV Jahn Regensburg, FC Augsburg and Munich’s Olympiastadion, as well as more distant options like Liverpool’s arena. Supporters note concerns about travel distance—about 90 km from Nürnberg—and reduced capacities that are far below the club’s average attendance.

Separately, police are searching for a suspect in an assault that left a 48‑year‑old Nürnberg fan with serious head and shoulder injuries after the club’s 2025 cup loss to FV Illertissen. Authorities released a photo and description of a male, 18‑25 years old, 1.80‑1.85 m tall, slim to athletic, with an Afro‑style haircut, wearing a dark blue FV Illertissen fan shirt. They have appealed for witnesses to come forward and for anyone with information to contact the Illertissen police station.
