105‑year‑old EsSalud patient Leandro Fortunato Reyes León honored on Peru’s Independence Day
Leandro Fortunato Reyes León, a 105‑year‑old beneficiary of Peru’s Social Health Insurance (EsSalud), was honored during the nation’s Fiestas Patrias celebrations. The EsSalud Home Care Programme (PADOMI) organized a serenade of criolla music and presented him with a diploma recognizing his centenarian status.
Reyes León, who lives independently in Lima’s Rímac district, said his longevity secret is staying calm, doing good deeds and trusting in God’s blessing. He continues to read the newspaper daily, maintains his personal hygiene without assistance, and follows a strict medication regimen. Since joining PADOMI after the COVID‑19 pandemic, he receives regular multidisciplinary home‑care visits from doctors, geriatric specialists, nurses, psychologists and therapists.
The tribute highlights PADOMI’s personalized approach to elderly care and underscores the value EsSalud places on patient wellbeing and community celebration.
