1&1 overhauls German mobile plans as spusu rolls out free‑month offer in Switzerland

German telecom provider 1&1 announced a complete revision of its mobile‑tariff portfolio, adding larger data allowances while keeping prices stable or lowering them. The change is driven by the operator’s ongoing rollout of its own Open‑RAN 5G network, which reduces reliance on costly Vodafone roaming and creates room for more generous data caps. Companies with multiple employee contracts could save several thousand euros annually under the new terms.

Swiss mobile‑service startup spusu celebrated its second year on the market by offering new customers four free months on the "spusu legendär XL" plan. The promotion provides unlimited 5G data, calls and SMS in Switzerland and 20 GB of EU roaming data, with no contract minimums. After the trial period the monthly fee is CHF 19.90. Around 70,000 Swiss users have already signed up for spusu’s service.
