11-Year-Old Boy Killed by Falling Tree at Michigan Scout Camp

An 11-year-old boy from River Forest, Illinois, died on Thursday after a tree fell on him while he was walking a wooded trail at the Owasippe Scout Reservation, a Scouting America summer camp in Twin Lake, Michigan. The incident occurred at about 5 p.m., and emergency crews from Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office, Blue Lake Fire Department, and other responders were dispatched to the scene. No other campers were injured.
