12 de Octubre de Itauguá has secured promotion to the División Intermedia for the 2027 season. The club clinched its spot in Paraguay's second football tier with four matches remaining in the Primera B season following a 1-1 draw between Atlántida and 12 de Octubre de Santo Domingo.

Led by technical director Arnaldo Espínola, the team currently sits at the top of the standings with 64 points. Their promotion is mathematically confirmed due to their superior head-to-head record over their closest pursuers. The club now requires only one more point to officially secure the league championship.

Club president Juan H. Appleyard expressed satisfaction with the achievement, noting that this marks the team's third year in the category. He stated that while the primary goal of promotion has been met, the club remains focused on winning the title and eventually returning to the Primera División.
