13‑year memorial ceremony for Acqualonga road tragedy held in Monteforte Irpino

On 28 July 2026, the municipality of Monteforte Irpino organized a commemorative ceremony to mark the 13th anniversary of the Acqualonga road disaster, which claimed 40 lives on 28 July 2013. The event took place in the Giardino della Memoria at the Acqualonga site and began at 17:30.

Mayor Fabio Siricio of Monteforte Irpino and Mayor Luigi Manzoni of Pozzuoli attended, followed by a wreath‑laying, a blessing by Vice‑Parish Priest Diego Antonio Della Bella, and reflections by Anna Nardone and Domenico Cerullo. Musical tributes were performed by cellist Teresa Vallese and pianist Michele Ruggiero. The ceremony emphasized remembrance, support for victims’ families, and ongoing community solidarity.
