14‑year‑old boy shot dead in Presidente Prudente, Brazil

Police in the western São Paulo city of Presidente Prudente opened an investigation after a 14‑year‑old boy was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head on Avenida Massaharu Akaki in Parque Watal Ishibashi. The incident occurred on Saturday evening; residents heard gunfire and called the military police, who arrived to find the victim without signs of a struggle. Investigators recovered ammunition, a mobile phone, bags, jewelry and a quantity of cocaine in a nearby residence, and the tenant of that home is under investigation. The case has been classified as homicide and remains under inquiry to identify the shooter(s).
