15-year-old hospitalized after excessive drinking in Salamina, two arrested

On the night of Sunday, 26 July 2026, a 15-year-old minor was taken to a health centre in Salamina after consuming a large amount of alcohol at a seaside café. She became semi‑unconscious and was later transferred by ambulance to the G. Gennimatas Hospital in Athens, where she is being treated and is reported to be out of danger.

Greek police were notified and detained two individuals. The 38‑year‑old owner of the café was arrested for violating laws that prohibit serving alcohol to minors and for exposing a minor to danger. The teen’s 51‑year‑old father was also arrested on the same charge following a prosecutorial order. Both suspects are expected to be brought before the courts as the investigation continues.
