1666: Amsterdam enters Early Access on PC
Panache Digital Games, a Montreal-based studio founded by former Assassin’s Creed developers, has launched its narrative action-adventure title, ‘1666: Amsterdam’, into Early Access on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Set in a supernatural version of 17th-century Amsterdam, the game follows Noa Brooklyn, a Collector tasked with hunting ‘The Originals’—ancient entities hiding among the human population. The gameplay features a day-and-night cycle: during the day, players investigate and identify targets, while at night, they engage in combat using witchcraft and spells.
A unique dual-protagonist mechanic allows players to switch to Aaron, a character from 1999 who inhabits the body of a cat, providing a different perspective for stealth and exploration. The studio intends to use the Early Access period, which is expected to last at least a year, to refine the game based on community feedback.
