1666: Amsterdam enters Early Access on PC
Panache Digital Games, a studio founded by Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Désilets, has released 1666: Amsterdam in Early Access for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game is priced at $29.99.
Set in 17th-century Amsterdam, players control Noa Brooklyn, a character known as “The Collector.” Her mission is to reclaim power from “The Originals,” ancient beings who have abused their longevity. The gameplay features a dual-phase structure: daytime investigation and nighttime combat during the “Esbat,” where enemies reveal their true forms.
Players can switch between two distinct characters: Noa, who utilizes witchcraft and direct combat, and Aaron, a man from 1999 who has been transformed into a cat. Aaron provides stealth capabilities and can access hidden paths. While the game offers unique atmosphere and mechanics, early reports note that the current version faces some technical and performance challenges. The studio intends to use the Early Access period to refine the experience based on community feedback.
