18-year-old charged with attempted murder after brutal stabbing of coral merchant in Torre del Greco

On the night of 30 May, a 39‑year‑old coral merchant was violently attacked in Torre del Greco, near Naples. The assailants used a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds to his throat, lung, and a tendon, and a chest injury that required a chest drain. He was rushed to the Maresca hospital and later transferred to the Mare di Napoli hospital, where his condition remains serious but not immediately life‑threatening.

Police investigations, aided by CCTV footage and witness statements, identified an 18‑year‑old suspect. He has been formally charged with attempted homicide and a violent brawl. Authorities continue to search for additional participants in the assault as the case develops.
