1898 Porter's House boutique hotel to open in Ghent

The historic 1898 Porter's House boutique hotel is scheduled to open in Ghent, Belgium, on September 1. Located along the canal, the renovated building features neogothic architecture with a light stone facade, arched windows, and large wooden doors.

The property, which formerly served as the porter's lodge for the nearby Hotel des Postes et des Télégraphes, offers various accommodation options including rooms, suites, and the ability to privatize the entire property for up to ten guests. Interior design elements include high ceilings, original doors, intact fireplaces, marble, and vintage furniture sourced from across Belgium.

Specific accommodations include the Porter’s Room, the Porter’s Junior Suite, and larger options such as the Porter’s Graslei and Porter’s Family suites, which feature terraces overlooking the Graslei quay on the eastern bank of the Leie river. The hotel's dining venue, The Kitchen, will provide breakfast and afternoon tea featuring seasonal specialties and artisanal breads.
