19-8 Hospital surgeons remove 7 cm pancreatic pseudocyst

Surgeons at 19-8 Hospital in Vietnam have successfully performed a complex surgery to treat a patient with a 7 cm pancreatic pseudocyst located in the tail of the pancreas. The cyst, a complication often following acute or chronic pancreatitis, posed significant risks including potential rupture, internal bleeding, or infection.

The surgical team utilized the Roux-en-Y method to create an anastomosis between the cyst and the jejunal loop, aiming to preserve healthy structures. Due to the cyst's location near the splenic artery and vein, the procedure required high technical precision to avoid damaging surrounding organs.
