19 Mayıs Ortaokulu implements carded turnstile system for student security

19 Mayıs Ortaokulu in the Tekkeköy district of Samsun has implemented a card-based turnstile system designed to enhance student safety and control building access. The system tracks the entry and exit times of students and allows for regulated access for parents and visitors.

Tekkeköy District Director of National Education, Mustafa Uzunlar, stated that the system is intended to contribute to a safe and controlled educational environment. School Principal Mustafa Avcı added that student security is a top priority for the new academic year.

This implementation aligns with a broader vision from the Ministry of National Education. Minister Yusuf Tekin has announced plans to expand carded turnstile models to schools across Turkey. Under this nationwide framework, teachers and school staff will also use cards to record their movements. Additionally, the Ministry is integrating AI-supported decision management mechanisms to assist school guidance units in monitoring student behavior and extraordinary situations.
