Restoration specialists verified the vehicle’s identity using the original VIN (8R02S125559) and studio build sheets, confirming unique film‑specific modifications such as camera mounts and trunk sound‑equipment housings.

The car had suffered severe rust, floorboard damage, and interior deterioration after years of outdoor storage.
