1Password adds AI‑powered automatic login with Anthropic’s Claude

1Password announced that its password‑manager now works with Claude, Anthropic’s conversational AI, to perform automatic logins on web sites. The integration, launched in July 2026 for macOS users of individual, family or business plans, requires a paid Claude subscription. When Claude needs to sign in, it asks the user for the specific credential, the user authorises the request with biometric verification, and 1Password fills the login fields without ever exposing the password or TOTP code to the AI.

The feature currently supports the Claude desktop app and Chrome on macOS; Windows and other browsers are not yet supported. 1Password also introduced “Agentic Mode”, which hides all vault items except those needed for the active task and automatically removes credentials from the page if they become visible. At launch the integration works with passwords and time‑based one‑time passwords, with plans to add payment cards and identity documents later.
