Artistic World Gymnastics Championships to be held in Rotterdam

The 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships are set to take place from October 17 to 25 at the Rotterdam Ahoy arena in the Netherlands. The event serves as a critical stage for international teams, including the United States, as they compete for podium positions and begin the long-term path toward Olympic qualification for the Los Angeles Games.

The USA Gymnastics women’s team features Skye Blakely, a two-time champion and former World team member, alongside Hezly Rivera, Claire Pease, Charleigh Bullock, and Reese Esponda. The American men’s team, led by Olympic bronze medalist Frederick Richard, aims to build on their 2023 success with a roster including Shane Wisku s, Patrick Hoopes, Danila Leykin, and Kameron Nelson.

For many nations, the championships represent the start of a multi-year qualification cycle. While direct team quotas for the Los Angeles Olympics will be primarily determined at the 2027 World Championships, the Rotterdam competition provides essential competitive experience and ranking opportunities for athletes from various countries.
