2026 Asian Games: Boxing and squash semi-finals conclude

The 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya have reached critical stages in both boxing and squash. In boxing, the semi-finals at Nishio Gymnasium determined finalists across six weight categories. China demonstrated significant strength, with four boxers advancing to the finals, including Wu Yu in the women’s 51kg division and Bao Ziyi in the 75kg category. Other notable advancements include Lin Yu-ting of Chinese Taipei in the 60kg division and Lovlina Borgohain of India in a closely contested 3:2 split-decision victory.

In the squash teams event at the Nagoya Kinjo-Futo Arena, the knockout stages are underway. Pakistan’s men’s team secured a semi-final spot following a 2-0 victory over the Republic of Korea. They are set to face Hong Kong, China, in the next round. Defending champions India also advanced after defeating Kuwait, moving closer to a potential back-to-back title. Meanwhile, Japan’s women’s team and Malaysia have also progressed in the competition.
