2026 Chishui River Forum held in Guizhou Province

The 2026 Chishui River Forum took place in Maotai Town, Guizhou Province, from October 16 to 18. The event, themed ‘Interweaving Harmony Advancing with the Times’, was jointly initiated by the Brand Work Office of Xinhua News Agency, China Economic Information Service (CEIS), and China Moutai.

During the forum, Ao Hong, director-general of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guizhou Province, discussed the unique advantages of Guizhou’s sauce-aroma baijiu. He outlined a strategy for ‘three transformations’ to move the industry toward collaborative growth, modernization, and enhanced consumer experiences.

Chen Hua, chairman of China Moutai Group, identified three priorities: coexistence with nature to protect production regions, accelerating industrial transformation, and deepening international cooperation. The forum also saw the launch of the China Brands Go Global initiative and the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development of the Liquor Industry. Additionally, a think tank for the ‘Chishui River Valley: China’s Sauce-Aroma Baijiu’ regional brand was inaugurated, and the World Famous Liquor Sustainable Development Index Report (2026) was released.
