2026 Esports World Club Cup: LoL Quarterfinals, DOTA2 Semifinal
The 2026 Esports World Club Cup continued its knockout stage on July 17 with the League of Legends quarterfinals. Four matches were scheduled: HLE vs T1, AG. AL vs KC, GEN vs JDG and BLG vs DK, the latter taking place at 21:30 Beijing time. All elimination rounds, except the final, are best‑of‑three series, with the final being best‑of‑five. The tournament features 16 teams, a $2 million prize pool and follows a single‑elimination format after the group stage.
On July 18 the DOTA 2 semifinals were held, where China's VG team was defeated 0‑2 by BB, ending their run and sending them to the third‑place match against the loser of the Team Yandex versus PVISION clash. The two games lasted 30 and 44 minutes respectively, with BB out‑killing VG 30‑3 and 26‑8. VG had reached the semifinals after advancing through group play and a comeback in the knockout round.
Both events illustrate the multi‑title structure of the World Club Cup, with teams from China and other regions competing for a share of the sizable prize fund.
