2026 FIFA World Cup group draws place Portugal, Colombia, Congo and Uzbekistan in Group K and Mexico, South Africa, S. K

The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup groups has been announced. Group K will consist of Portugal, the reigning Euro 2016 champions and a team led by Cristiano Ronaldo, Colombia, a strong South‑American side that reached the quarter‑finals in 2014, the Democratic Republic of Congo, returning to the finals for the first time since 1974, and Uzbekistan, making its debut at a World Cup. Portugal are the favorites in the group, while the other three nations look to secure one of the two direct qualification spots or the best‑placed third‑place slot.

Group A features host nation Mexico, who automatically qualify as one of the three co‑hosts of the tournament that will be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Joining them are South Africa, back after its 2010 host run, South Korea, which reached the round of 16 in 2022, and the Czech Republic, returning to the World Cup for the first time since 2006.
