2026 FIFA World Cup to hold three opening ceremonies in Mexico, Canada and the United States

FIFA announced that the 2026 summer World Cup will feature an unprecedented three opening ceremonies. The first ceremony will take place in Mexico City on 11 June before the Mexico–South Africa match. The second will be held in Toronto on 12 June ahead of the Canada–Bosnia‑Herzegovina game, and a final ceremony will occur the same day in Los Angeles before the United States–Paraguay fixture.

The events will combine music, culture and football to showcase the host nations. International artists confirmed include Danny Ocean in Mexico, Alanis Morissette and Michael Bublé in Toronto, and Katy Perry in Los Angeles. FIFA President Gianni Infantino said, “The World Cup is a global event and the first important element is how we open it.”
