2026 FIFA World Cup sets viewership records in Poland and Slovakia

Telewizja Polska (TVP) reported that the 2026 FIFA World Cup reached a cumulative audience of 25 million in Poland, with the final attracting over 9 million viewers and more than 1.5 million watching online via TVP Sport and TVP VOD. The tournament delivered TVP its highest online viewership ever, a market share of about 65 % for the final and an average TV share of 28.5 %.

In Slovakia, the JOJ Group broadcast all 104 matches on its channels and the JOJ play streaming platform, drawing a total audience of 2.34 million, with the final seen by more than 1.6 million viewers. Online, the final attracted roughly 58 thousand streams, and the platform’s subscriber base grew by 18.55 %.

TVP also aired over 7,000 advertising spots during live matches (19,557 spots across all related programming), generated nearly 19,500 GRP from 367 brands, and noted that night‑time matches still attracted sizable audiences, contributing to a total contact audience of 25 million.

These figures underscore the tournament’s massive reach across traditional TV and digital platforms in both markets, highlighting its commercial significance for broadcasters and advertisers.
