2026 French Overseas Cycling Tours Launch in Guadeloupe and La Réunion
The third stage of the 2026 Tour de Guadeloupe was won by French rider Damien Urcel, who surged ahead on the final climb at Capesterre-Belle-Eau on 2 August. Bogdan Zabelinskiy retained the overall yellow jersey despite a late challenge, while the stage saw a fast average speed of 42.99 km/h.
The Tour cycliste de La Réunion returned after a year’s hiatus, starting on 3 August with a 3.3‑km prologue at the Gabriel Chéfiare velodrome in Saint‑Denis. Seventy‑eight riders from sixteen teams, including local and mainland French cyclists, will contest a prologue and seven road stages, culminating on 9 August. The race will feature varied terrain across the island, with a decisive individual time trial on 7 August between Saint‑Pierre and Petite‑Île.
