2026 Italian dance festivals showcase works in Bolzano, Palombaio and Bitonto
On 22 July 2026, Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker’s landmark contemporary piece Rosas danst Rosas will be performed at the Waltherhaus in Bolzano as part of the Bolzano Danza 2026 festival. The production, originally created in 1983, returns with a completely renewed cast representing five generations of dancers, and is accompanied by a Salto Talk on the intersection of art, science and innovation.
The Summer Dance Festival 2026, organized by Dance Team De Paloe, presents two evenings of performances in Palombaio (24 July) and Bitonto (26 July). More than 230 dancers, including adults and children, will perform works that address themes of diversity, inclusion and autism, with guest artists such as Mattia Zenzola and Michele Lonardelli. The festival’s technical director, Gaetano De Palo, highlights collaborations with the association “Una finestra sul blu” and programmes inspired by “The Greatest Showman” and “The Little Mermaid.”
