Giannis Antetokounmpo Traded to Miami Heat in Blockbuster NBA Deal

The Miami Heat acquired Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis from the Milwaukee Bucks in a multi‑asset blockbuster. In return the Bucks received guard Tyler Herro, rookie forward Kel’el Ware, prospects Jaime Jaqez Jr. and Kasparas Jakučionis, plus three unprotected first‑round picks (2031, 2033, 2035), a 2030 pick‑swap and a 2023 second‑round pick.

In a separate three‑team transaction, the Brooklyn Nets received Julius Randle and the No. 28 pick (Joshua Jefferson) from the Bucks, while the Chicago Bulls acquired center Nic Claxton. The Minnesota Timberwolves cleared Randle’s contract, obtained the No. 33 pick (Isaiah Evans) and forward Mouhamadou Gueye, and later added LaMelo Ball and Josh Green from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Naz Reid, a 2033 unprotected first‑round pick, several future pick swaps and additional second‑round selections. The Hornets received forward Naz Reid and future draft assets. The Memphis Grizzlies also added frontcourt depth by acquiring Isaiah Stewart.

These moves reshape several franchises ahead of the 2026‑27 season, with Miami gaining a superstar roster core, Milwaukee beginning a rebuild centered on young talent and assets, and Minnesota, Brooklyn, Chicago, Charlotte and Memphis each altering their line‑ups and future draft positioning.
