2026 Remittance Flows Dip in El Salvador but Rise in Mexico’s Aguascalientes

In June 2026, El Salvador received US$850.83 million in family remittances, a 7.82% decline from the previous month and a 1.68% drop compared with June 2025, according to the country's central bank. The data reflect a slowdown in the flow of funds from abroad during the month.

During the first quarter of 2026, the Mexican state of Aguascalientes recorded US$221.5 million in remittances, a modest 1.6% increase over the same period in 2025. Nationwide, Mexico received a total of US$14.698 billion in the quarter, up 2.22% year‑on‑year, with Guanajuato leading the country in receipts and Mexico City expanding its share to 8% of the national total.
