2026 Shivratri and Kanwar Yatra scheduled for August 11

The Hindu month of Shravan begins this year, marking the start of the Kanwar Yatra, a month‑long pilgrimage in which devotees collect holy river water to offer to Lord Shiva. According to the Draik Panchang, the main observance, Shravan Shivratri, falls on 11 August 2026, and the Kanwar Yatra concludes on the same day.

Devotees who cannot travel are advised to perform a home puja: filling a copper or brass vessel with pure water, offering it to a Narmadeshwar Shiva lingam, and completing the rite with traditional flowers, bel leaves, dhatura, and incense while chanting “Om Namah Shivaya.”
