2026 World Cup trophy to be carried in custom Louis Vuitton trunk
Louis Vuitton has crafted a bespoke trunk to transport the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy. Hand‑made at the brand’s Asnières‑sur‑Seine workshop, the case is wrapped in the iconic monogram canvas and features hand‑painted gold “V” motifs symbolising Victory and Vuitton. Inside, the trunk is lined in light‑beige leather and designed to protect and showcase the trophy when it is unveiled on the pitch.
For the same tournament, FIFA has raised its overall financial distribution to the 48 participating associations to £645 million ($871 million). The prize‑money package includes £7.4 million for qualification, £1.9 million for preparation, and performance payments of £37 million for the winners, £24.4 million for runners‑up, and lower amounts for third and fourth places. National associations receive these funds and set their own bonus structures for players, managers and staff, resulting in varied payouts across countries.
