2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil: Alex Morgan to Attend as Fan, Nubank Parque Excluded from Venues
Two‑time World Cup champion Alex Morgan said she will travel to Brazil to watch the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup as a fan, praising the country’s street football culture and the tournament’s growing competitiveness. Morgan, who retired in 2024, expects a vibrant atmosphere and hopes the U.S. team performs strongly.
FIFA has confirmed that the Nubank Parque stadium in São Paulo will not host any matches for the 2027 tournament. The governing body reduced the number of host cities to eight and will use only one venue in São Paulo – the Neo Química Arena – because it was already upgraded for the 2014 men’s World Cup, lowering costs and simplifying logistics. The other seven confirmed venues are Maracanã (Rio de Janeiro), Mineirão (Belo Horizonte), Mané Garrincha (Brasília), Arena Fonte Nova (Salvador), Arena de Pernambuco (Recife), Arena Castelão (Fortaleza) and Beira‑Rio (Porto Alegre).
