20th Century Studios acquires Sam Raimi horror project from Netflix

20th Century Studios has acquired the supernatural thriller “Every House Is Haunted” from Netflix. The project, which has been in development for several years, will now fall under the Disney umbrella.

Based on the short story “The House on Ashley Avenue” by Ian Rogers, the film follows an insurance investigator attempting to prove a rational explanation for a couple's deaths in a supposedly haunted house. His skepticism is challenged by mysterious events and an encounter with a medium.

Adam Schindler and Brian Netto are set to direct the film. Sam Raimi is attached as a producer, alongside Zainab Azizi, Roy Lee, and Andrew Childs. The screenplay was written by Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman.
