21-Year-Old Joan Dies After Cow Accident at Tírig Festival in Spain

Joan, a 21‑year‑old resident, died at the Hospital General de Castellón after being struck in the head by a cow during a "bous al carrer" exhibition that formed part of the patron saint festivities in the town of Tírig, Spain. He had been admitted to the intensive‑care unit on Thursday following the incident.

The municipal council of Tírig suspended all remaining official events, displayed a black mourning banner and issued a statement saying, "La muerte de Joan, en medio de nuestras fiestas patronales, ha llenado de dolor, consternación y silencio a todo nuestro pueblo," and offered condolences and support to his family and the community.
